Friday November 25, the Hogs will get their chance to beat the unanimous top ranked college football team and lay claim to the number two ranking or perhaps even the top ranking in the BCS. Regardless of the No. 1 or No. 2 ranking, Arkansas
The BCS is supposed to take the top two ranked BCS teams for the national title game. If Arkansas beats LSU and Alabama beats Auburn , Alabama and Arkansas
If Arkansas is ranked second, the only possible obstacle blocking Arkansas ’ path would be if the voters somehow jump Oklahoma State over the Razorbacks if OSU were to beat Oklahoma Stillwater Alabama
The task of the Razorbacks beating LSU in Death Valley seems daunting but not impossible. The Hogs have won 3 of the last 4 meeting against the Tigers including last year’s decisive 31-23 victory.
The chaos of this year’s BCS situation only heightens the need for a college football playoff system.

The Razorbacks have a distinct shot but LSU isnt the team they were last year by any means. The game is in LSU and LSU beat an Alabama team that stomped the Razorbacks. Should be great football friday watching...but I suspect LSU will meet the winner of the OKST/Oklahoma game for the BCS Championship assuming LSU wins out the remainder of the way.

ReplyDeleteA two-loss Oklahoma team will not play in the BCS Championship whether they beat OSU or not.
ReplyDeleteThe game is AT LSU, and IN Baton Rouge. LSU is better than it was last year, but Arkansas is better than it was in September, when Bequette was not available for the Alabama game and Wright was injured during the game. Alabama has been beat up all of November, though it has not cost them any games yet.
I'd be good with an Arkansas victory and an Alabama loss too. Whoever gets to the SEC Championship game is not going to play an exhibition; Georgia has won its last ten. Still, I favor the west because UGA is playing without Crowell.

ReplyDeleteCould LSU's defense have been better last season? There were more offensive weapons in the SEC West last year thus defensive stats will be skewed. Patrick Petersen, think I spelled his name right, was amazing for LSU in 2010. He won a couple of games for LSU single handily.
Either way I sure hope that it is a great game and I fully expect the Hogs to come out on top.
