Not What it Seems

In an effort to make you feel good about purchasing Papa John's pizza's for Veteran's Day, the Papa himself is donating $1 of every online pizza to the USO. Sounds good right? You feel good about buying a pizza and Papa John's looks good for donating a dollar to a very worthy cause.

The hidden assumption is one is getting a deal and they, Papa John's, are taking a $1 loss on every pizza ordered. What they are not telling you is normally they charge $10 for their online orders not $11.

Truth is all they are doing is running business per usual and collecting an extra dollar from you to give to the USO. Still a worthy situation but don't put the Johns up on any pedestal.

I wonder who gets that tax write off at the end of the year???
