Lighter Side of the Sports Story

Former Florida Gator quarterback and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel has been hospitalized with Guillain Barre Syndrome. GBS is a rare condition in which the immune system attacks the nerve cells in the body. GBS is treatable and Wuerffel is expected to make a full recovery.

Wuerffel thinks he contracted the disease from a stomach virus he recently suffered. HogManInLA thinks Tim Teabow was making fun of Wuerffel’s throwing motion during the 2011 Florida Gator Spring Football game. Wuerffel then realized if Tim Teabow is making fun of my throwing motion it really must be bad. Knowing he had no recourse, his body attacked his nervous system in a fit of frustration. Just a guess; but you never know? Kind of a "laces out Dan" moment.

Not all that surprising

Dallas Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson was arrested and charged with public intoxication Tuesday night in suburban Dallas, Texas. Stevenson was a key player in Dallas’ 4-2 series win over the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.

Stevenson was arrested on the grounds of an apartment complex outside of Dallas. Stevenson had no idea where he was at the time of his arrest. Irvine, Texas police are saying he looked like LeBron James during the 4th quarter of the NBA Finals… He looked lost, confused, and making a pass at everything that came by.

Stay Classy Vancouver!

150 people have been reported injured after rioting ensued in downtown Vancouver following the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 NHL Final lost to the Boston Bruins Wednesday night. One man has been critically stabbed and another beaten when trying to stop looters at a department store.

The City of Vancouver said looting and rioting are acceptable items to add to the list of things Roberto Luongo cannot save for Vancouver
